|||About Science With Sophie|
Science With Sophie is a science comedy series for all ages. This fast-paced, light-hearted show invites YOU to explore science all around you and remember that you are brave, curious, funny, smart, and a scientist every day.
Hosted by science educator/actor/comedian Sophie Shrand, the cast of wacky characters (all played by Sophie) explores science on the street, in a glass of water, on a scraped knee, and more. You can find Science With Sophie Season One and subscribe to the channel on YouTube.
The show is Sophie's upbeat solution to the serious problem of inequity in STEM fields and underrepresentation of women in science media. By bringing strong female role models to people of all ages and gender identities, Sophie aims to level the playing field for girls and women in science.
Sophie is a science educator, comedian, and actor with degrees in Neuroscience and Theatre from Northeastern University, Boston. In addition to creating Science With Sophie, Sophie develops educational programming at the Museum of Science and Industry, Chicago, teaching 24,000 students per year. As a performer, Sophie has appeared on stages and screens across Boston and Chicago, including the Second City Training Center's Musical House Ensemble.
