Emily Mohr, a senior at Cary-Grove High School, was featured this week on WGN Radio. Emily was Steve Cochran's "Kid of the Week" and talked live on-air with the radio hosts.
"I’m really glad that I was given the opportunity to experience this. It was great to be able to talk about all of the clubs, groups, and church organizations that I’m passionate about," said Emily Mohr, Cary-Grove senior.
She was nominated by a family member to be the "Kid of the Week.Emily spoke with the hosts about her life at Cary-Grove, her volunteer work in the community, and her future plans.
Emily is a part of Cary-Grove's Buddy Program, Interact Club, Cross Country, and Student Council. In the community, Emily volunteers at St. Peter and Paul Church in Cary as a religious education teacher and is leader in a group youth retreat program. She is currently deciding what university to attend next year, but her top choices are Bradley University and St. Ambrose University. She plans to study Elementary Education and Special Education.
