2018 Summer Construction

Twenty-two major projects across District 155’s four high schools are in progress for the summer of 2018, and nine have been completed as of July 17. The board approved $13,973,365 in capital improvement projects that are necessary for maintenance and to upkeep our schools (this includes the cost to relocate Haber Oaks).

During the week of July 23, crews painted the newly renovated tennis courts. This specific summer project is nearly complete. ​

 



During the week of July 23, crews worked on the concrete sidewalk entrance, parking lot and front entrance at Haber Oaks.


 



Several projects at Cary-Grove are being completed this summer. From windows to water lines, the building will be ready to welcome students back next month.

During the week of July 16, crews worked on the the new state-of-the-art incubator classroom at Crystal Lake Central. 

 


During the week of July 9, small but significant projects were completed at Cary-Grove and Crystal Lake South High Schools.

 




During the week of July 9, the track at Prairie Ridge High School was resurfaced. 

 



During the week of July 2, crews continued to work on the new space for Haber Oaks.

 

During the week of July 2, crews began repainting the gym at Crystal Lake Central as well as replace door frames throughout the school.​​​

 

During the week of June 25, crews installed two new water vessels inside the boiler room at Cary-Grove High School.

 


During the week of June 25, crews began ripping up the old tennis courts at Prairie Ridge High School. A new tennis shed will also be built next to the new courts.​

 



During the week of June 18, crews worked on Entrance 8 at Crystal Lake Central. There will be new steps, light fixtrures and doors once the project is complete.


 

During the week of June 18, construction crews began replacing the roof at Crystal Lake South High School. Get a 360 degree view of the project by watching the video below.

 

During the week of June 11, construction crews began installing new windows at Cary-Grove High School. The thermodynamic​ windows will help D155 save money on energy bills.​

 

During the weeks of May 28 & June 4, constructions crews started the parking lot project at Prairie Ridge High School. 

 

During the week of June 4, crews ripped up the track at Crystal Lake Central until only gravel remained. They are now in the process of paving it so runners can use it in the fall. ​

 

During the week of May 28, crews tore down walls and lockers at Crystal Lake South to make space for the new Haber Oaks Campus. ​​

“Throughout the summer construction season, we have worked collaboratively with the City of Crystal Lake and the Village of Cary to improve our facilities. We appreciate their collaboration on these projects, and we are excited for our students and staff to see the renovations when they return in August,” said Jeremy Davis, assistant superintendent of finance and operations.


Additionally, the district continues to publish summer construction video updates on its website and social media channels to inform taxpayers and the community. The District 155 video updates have been viewed over 10,000 times and have been watched a total of 42 hours.
