District 155 Testing on October 10, 2018

On October 10, 2018, students in grades 9, 10, and 11 will be participating in the following exams:

• 9th grade students will take the PSAT 8/9 exam

• 10th grade students will take a retired PSAT 10 exam

 • 11th grade students will take the PSAT/NMSQT exam

• 12th grade students will not be testing and are excused from school

We encourage students to arrive to school early, prior to 7:25 AM, to give themselves time to put away their things, get to their testing room, and ensure they have all the necessary supplies prior to testing. Please be aware that students will be on an altered schedule on October 10. Some students will begin testing as early as 7:30 AM. Most students will have an early release at 11:15 AM while students with testing accommodations will be released at 12:50PM. Transportation will run at both times if needed.

The information from the exams will be used to measure students’ proficiency towards various college readiness standards and in calculating student achievement growth throughout their high school career. This is the third year that CHSD 155 will be administering the SAT Suite of Assessments across three grade levels due to the Illinois State Board of Education selecting the SAT as the state’s college level entrance exam.

All students testing on October 10 should bring #2 pencils (non-mechanical), their student ID, and a calculator. Please be aware that College Board guidelines prohibit electronic devices (cell phones, Chromebooks, etc…) from testing rooms. If you are interested in learning more about the calculator guidelines for the PSAT and/or the SAT, please visit this link. For any other information regarding the SAT Suite, please visit this link

Students in the Life Skills program at Crystal Lake Central High School or the Functional Living Skills program at Crystal Lake South High School or Functional Communication Skills program at Cary-Grove High School will not be tested but are expected to attend school on October 10.

Students participating in the STRIVE program at Prairie Ridge High School are excused from school on October 10th. The Student

Services Coordinator at your student’s school will also be reaching out with communication regarding building-specific details and procedures.
