Student Services Department Earns RAMP Certification
The American School Counselor Association (ASCA) named Cary-Grove High School as a Recognized ASCA Model Program (RAMP). The RAMP designation, awarded for aligning with the criteria in the ASCA National Model, recognizes schools that are committed to delivering a comprehensive, data-driven school counseling program and an exemplary educational environment.

“We were doing many of the components of implementing a RAMP program already in terms of prioritizing narrowing the achievement gap. The application process has helped the counseling team to prioritize programs and activities that align with our department vision and district mission statements,” said Dr. Hank Harvey, student services coordinator.

RAMP applications are reviewed by teams of school counseling professionals. Thirteen schools in Illinois received the designation this year including Crystal Lake South High School.

The RAMP designation was awarded to 104 schools in 27 states this year. All RAMP schools will be honored at a recognition ceremony at ASCA’s annual conference in Denver on July 10. Prairie Ridge received its RAMP certification last school year.
