|National Board Certification|National Board certification is the teaching profession's mark of accomplished teaching. As reported on the National Board website, "Research shows that the students of Board-certified teachers learn more than students in other classrooms." For this reason, D155 has partnered with the D155 Education Association to support a local National Board cohort. This cohort is operated under the guidance of the National Board Resource Center at Illinois State University.
Teachers can pursue National Board Certification without being a member of the cohort. However, the guidance, support, and structure of a cohort of colleagues pursuing the same certification will increase each individual candidate's likelihood of successfully completing the program.
Anyone interested in learning more about the current cohort should contact Matt Timmerman , Director of Staff Development & Instructional Technology.
